Gelsenkirchen city centre
The area around the church on Neumarkt, near the main rail station, forms the centre of Gelsenkirchen, and is partially pedestrianised. Transport links by car and public transport: 2km to the A42 motorway (Schalke exit) and 3km to the A40 (Gelsenkirchen exit). Gelsenkirchen’s main rail station can be found on the southern edge of the city centre, and offers various regional and long-distance connections, plus the S2 local rail service that runs between Duisburg and Dortmund. Underground rail to Gelsenkirchen’s Buer district and Bochum’s Wattenscheid district. Numerous bus routes travel in various directions. |
